ONAGA - Florence E. Perrussel Ratcliff, 94, Onaga, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at Golden Acres Nursing Center in Onaga.
She was born Nov. 24, 1909, in the Neuchatel community, northwest of Onaga, the daughter of Julius and Pauline Bonjour Perrussel. Florence was a homemaker. She was a friend of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga and a member of the Bid 'n Bye Pinochle Club. She married Ralph S. Ratcliff on Aug. 18, 1928, in Holton. He died Dec. 4, 1975. Mrs. Ratcliff also was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon, Levi and Russell Perrussel, and one who was stillborn; and six sisters, Lilly Perrussel, Elsie Lewis, Grace Smith, Waunita Cass, Tamar Perrussel and Helen Kuehl. Survivors include four sons and their wives, Gene A. and Sharon Ratcliff, Edmond, Okla., Duane R. and Marlene Kay Ratcliff, Wichita, and Gerald “Leon” and Lois Ratcliff and Verne A. and Pat Ratcliff, all of Onaga; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Onaga. Burial will be in Onaga Cemetery. Florence will lie in state Saturday and Sunday at Tessendorf-Chapel Oak Funeral Home in Onaga, where friends and family will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. She also will lie in state an hour before service time Monday at the church.
